报告题目:Nonlinear Spin Dynamics of Noble Gases in Dual Bias Magnetic Fields
报告内容:Spin masers based on the Larmor precession of one species of noble-gas nuclear spins are key to precision measurement in experimental search for physics beyond the standard model. However, on occasions that multiple species of atomic spins are involved, there are generally multiple intrinsic Larmor frequencies. Previous works usually treat the spins of each species independently while the full picture of the spin dynamics in the presence of multiple Larmor frequencies is still lacking. In this work, we study a system with one species of noble-gas nuclear spins placed in dual bias magnetic fields such that there are two intrinsic Larmor frequencies. All the nuclear spins are subject to a feedback magnetic field as used to stabilize the one-species spin maser oscillation. We find that due to the nonlinearity brought about by the feedback field, the spin oscillation exhibits much richer dynamic phases, including quasi-periodic orbits and chaos besides the usual limit cycles. The limit cycles and quasi-periodic orbits give rise to self-sustained spin oscillations, while the chaos exhibits the aperiodic and irregular oscillation that depends sensitively on the initial conditions. We also discuss the generalization to cases of more than two intrinsic Larmor frequencies and of the continuum limit, and point out the implications of our results to precision measurement.
个人简介:罗智煌,现为中山大学物理与天文学院副教授,硕士生导师。2010年本科毕业于安徽大学物理与材料科学学院,同年进入中国科学技术大学近代物理系,并于2016年获得博士学位。之后分别前往北京计算科学研究中心(2016-2017,2018-2019)和加拿大滑铁卢大学量子计算研究所(2017-2018)进行博士后工作。2019年被中山大学“中国科学院人才计划”引进。主要从事量子计算、量子模拟、量子精密测量等方向的研究,在Nature Physics, NPJ Quantum Information, PRL, PRX等国际权威期刊发表学术论文15余篇。目前主持一项国家自然科学基金青年项目,参与国家自然科学基金重点和面上项目各一项。
