Title:  Experimental realization of coherently convertible dual-type qubits with the same ion species

Abstract:  For scalable quantum computing and networking, it is critical to have two types of qubits, one for computation and storage, while the other for auxiliary operations. These two types of qubits need to be spectrally separated to avoid crosstalk. Dual-type qubits have previously been realized in hybrid systems using two ion species, which, however, introduces significant experimental challenges for laser setup, gate operations, as well as the control of the positioning of each qubit type within an ion crystal. These problems can be solved by implementing two coherently-convertible qubit types using the same ion species. In this talk, I will introduce our recent work about experimentally realization of dual-type qubits with the same species of ions.

Bio: 杨蒿翔,清华大学量子信息中心博士后研究员,现主要从事基于离子阱系统的量子计算实验研究。2013本科毕业于清华大学物理系,2020年于清华大学交叉信息研究院获得理学博士学位,博士期间主要研究旋量玻色爱因斯坦凝聚体中的动力学过程。
